Stella, the driving force behind Hatters & Co has many years experience in the catering industry as the daughter of an Italian chef and restaurateur with three London restaurants she was brought up around crashing pots, drying pasta and the intoxicating magic of food.
As well as helping in the family business Stella also went on to catering college, and studied food history, she has passions for wild, world and historical cookery so there is not much she can’t turn her hand to.
Stella fell in love with Scotland on her first visit in 2000 and in 2002 she made the brave move to leave London with her fourteen year old daughter and three cats to set up home in what she describes as her tiny dream cottage.
After working for several years in the area within in the catering industry, Stella decided to open her first tearoom and Hatters was born. Situated in the picturesque village of Newburgh, where Stella lives, she quickly built a strong reputation for creative food using local and seasonal ingredients.
Stella was approached to cater for a couple of events and this side of the business took off on its own accord and Stella now also runs the successful Hatters Catering, a bespoke catering business where she caters for everything from dinner parties to weddings.
